Environmental Groups/Blogs
http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ - In Canada and the US… Our government has it backward. Environmental groups have to work for years to have “unsafe” products taken off the shelf. Don’t ya think if it was possible that products or ingredients were unsafe that it would be the other way around and that the industry or company would have to prove that a product is safe for consumers… No… the companies actually making all the big mula get to tie up stuff in court for years. The EWG has a safety guide of cosmetics and personal care products. The Environmental Working Group purpose is to fill in where companies and the government leave off: EWG's scientists built Skin Deep to be a one-of-a-kind resource, integrating our in-house collection of personal care product ingredient listings with more than 50 toxicity and regulatory databases.

Government
www.partnershipagainstcancer.ca - The Canadian Partnership against Cancer is an independent organization funded by the federal government to accelerate action on cancer control for all Canadians.
-
They have funded a really big project called Canadian Partnership for tomorrow. The main triggers for cancer are a mix of genetics, behaviour and environmental factors. Understanding all these factors and their long term impact on cancer risk is the goal of the Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow Project — the largest population study in Canada to date. Great data for my kids! No use to me today.
-
They have some good info on the need to treat all aspects of cancer care… including a lot of stuff we’ve been preaching… spiritual, social, complementary therapies… etc… My worry here is that it is so big that they will have a hard time delivering to the community level. I believe that some larger urban centers will benefit but small populations will not see the benefits for a long time to come.
